§ 2 /Data on your device and in your iCloud
Digstory has no accounts and no servers of its own, and it contains no analytics and no crash reporting. Your saved game (dig progress, coins, gems, finds, purchased upgrades, settings and which hints you have seen) is stored on your iPhone.
If iCloud backup is on (it is by default and can be turned off in the app’s settings), a copy of the saved game is stored in your own iCloud account through Apple’s iCloud key-value storage, so a new iPhone with the same Apple ID can continue your game. To tell your devices apart, the saved game contains an identifier that Apple gives the app on each device. We have no access to your iCloud; see Apple Privacy Policy.
Data on your iPhone is deleted when you delete the app; the iCloud copy can be removed in the iCloud settings of your iPhone.
§ 3 /Advertising (Google AdMob)
Digstory shows no ads on its own. If you choose to, you can watch a video through Google AdMob to double your offline earnings or open a find chest. We request non-personalised ads. In regions where consent is required (such as the EU and the UK), the app asks for your consent with Google’s consent form before the first video is requested; you can change your choice in the Shop under “Privacy settings for ads”.
Google may process device information, your IP address and ad interactions to deliver ads, measure them and prevent fraud. The app does not ask for permission to track you across other apps (App Tracking Transparency) and does not use the advertising identifier for tracking.
Details: Google Privacy Policy and how Google uses information from apps that use its services.
§ 4 /In-app purchases
Purchases (gem packs, starter pack, permanent upgrades) are processed by Apple through the App Store; we never receive your payment details. The app checks with Apple which purchases belong to your Apple ID. See Apple Privacy Policy.
§ 5 /Links and export
Masterpieces and chapters link to Wikipedia; these links open in Safari, and Wikipedia’s own privacy policy applies there. If you export your saved game, the app hands a file to the iOS share sheet; where it goes is up to you.
§ 6 /Your rights
You can ask what personal data we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, restrict its processing and lodge a complaint with a data protection authority. Since we do not run servers for this app, we usually hold no personal data about you; data processed by Google or Apple is subject to their policies linked above. Contact: oliver@oklitz.net.
§ 7 /Children
Digstory is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the third-party services used by the app, please contact us so we can act on it.
§ 8 /Changes
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes are posted on this page with a new date at the top.
